Our legacy of hope Printable Version PRINTABLE VERSION

No longer held back
By the excuse
Of the color of our skin

No more need to heed
The doubt
Now we can refute
Internalized inferiority
Lying
Within

No longer can we be
Fatalistic about our future
Now we have tangible proof
That despite our past
Our beginnings
Our life’s turbulent trails
We can win!

This piece is inspired by Black history, all the events leading up to the fulfillment of MLK's Dream - the Jan 20th, 2009 Inauguration
