What is your opinion on the thesis that ignorance is the key vehicle and core fundament of all violence, intolerance, inhumanity, terror and evil as such? Could you agree that knowledge is the base for decent work and accordingly decent life in information society and knowledge economy?
If so, there is an important role for international community in creating global awareness about the consequences of unemployment and advocating for concreted action to promote employment opportunities. Support is needed in policy and progrmme design and implementation, mobilising financial and other resources and in facilitating the exchange of experiences in promoting productive employment.
Uneployment issue is the core question on security agenda. Future military requirements to deal with terrorism should concentrate more on providing knowledge in both know-how and technology to ensure employment and decent life.
We all had opportunity to witness the war in the middle of Europe at the end of last century because of lack of knowledge and skills to make "quantum leap" from industrial to the information society. Knowledge is socio-economically approved only if it is productive and profitable for all; and people’s average income is a conditio sine qua non for their freedom of choice to live in harmony.
