Tell any journalist that there is a nuclear bomb explosion, “…there is an attack on a president’s pet; there is a clash between two prominent leaders of the world….” and they will have the time create a headline out of it, but tell them that you want to hold a tree planting event as a youth club and Alas! You will be told, more often than not, that there is no vehicle to transport our video gadgets, that there is no time for us to come since we are committed elsewhere, that there should be an important personality for the event to capture the eye of the EDITOR IN CHIEF for it to be produced.

These are some of the hurdles that most of us youth meet as we try so hard to show the world why we need to change our ways of doing things through activities. These activities range from creating awareness of those suffering from HIV/Aids by visiting the hospitals as college students; creating awareness of the young orphans by visiting and donating things to them; creating awareness by involving the communities surrounding our Universities and colleges as a means of retuning to the communities on the various important economic strategies that we should embrace to bring about sustainable economic development; creating awareness of the environmental sustainable use and environmental conservation in order to safeguard the future generations survival; the list is endless.

I speak from experience and to me all the problems above that we face as youth who would like to motivate fellow youths in becoming active to change the world is not news to me. It is for this sole reason that I decided that I will get things done with regards to sharing what we do as youth, however useless the activity is. It could be useless and unrewarding to you but it is positive and beneficial to the recipient, and that’s what matters most.

Getting an account with www.youtube.com was the most positive step for me to make the world share what we have been doing both as groups or individuals. These are small gestures that make a difference. I am happy to note that my productions are now viewed and eventually someone somewhere will be touched and also give a hand to those youths who will not be able to have a account with the website.

Unless we realize that it is in motivation that we will be encouraged to fight on and on. Motivation to be should not always be seen in terms of money or material things but rather with appreciation of what we have done as youth. That will make a big difference to us and keep us going believing that we have changed another life somewhere. This however can not be done if people are ignorant of what we do everyday. My urge to those who have the ability is to try to give the youth the exposure they need so that others too may have the opportunity to see what others are doing. I speak for those who can not have a way to spread the gospel of the youth participation through the web like me.
