Lamentation Those we relied on, yes We relied on them With a view That we were together, But they have sold us For a peace of silver. They oppress the poor, They crush the needy And publish lies On the pages of newspapers In place of truth, of things they have done for us. But they are multiplying Their sorrow, Because they declined Being corrected. If God restrains rain, What would happen to this globe As they restrain our need From us? They see us and have taken us As their perpetual slaves, But God will overthrow them As He did in Sodom and Gomorrah. They say they are the untouchable But all eyes shall see them, Who proclaim they are courageous, Men of integrity, dignity and authority Fleeing naked on the Day to come Because they refuse to incline ears To the hullabaloo of the forest tigress Hullabalooing because of hunger. God of the widows and the poor Shall never tarry to visit all. Is there any language That God does not understand? « return. |
