It is indeed sad and disturbing...with the current occurrences and lifestyle that we the youth of our beloved country Kenya are living, it needs a lot of critical reasoning to beat the odds.
The youth in Kenya today are faced with a lot of challenges, most of which should be turned into great opportunities but alas!,that has never been the case. we the youth need to realise that the future belongs to us and hence the way we do behave and carryout ourselves matters most.
Most of the youth today engage into unwanted social activities that waste away at a very great rate, they forget and neglect to realise that reality will always be reality and will never turn into fiction.
We all do have dreams in life, dreams that we must work hard to realise and this needs a lot of commitment and discipline. We know very well that the leaders we have today are not doing much in terms of accountability in their leadership and in what they should provide for as a result of the posts that they have in the country, disrespect of being in government, church, school or even at home. We have a lot that is to be done comrades, it is up to us to come out strong and maximise our potentials and weaknesses and make good out of it.
The question here is how long will we live to see all this that is happening and we assume that all is well?! We need to change our social attitude first so that we can be able to change our economic well being for that is where our lives depend most, without economic stability we can never get to realise all that we want to easily for we will still be dictated around by those that are ahead of us in terms of age, class, wealth and positions!!
This is not how we are supposed to live. I have no problem with the fact of 'Vijana Tugutuke", but the quarrel I have here is that we are limiting ourselves to politics, while those that are there are very much aware of the techniques they can use to tame the youth who are trying to poke their nose into their business for that is their way of life!! My point of view here is that the youth can "Gutuka", by realising that they need to first achieve economic control of their society, something the leaders are really trying to block them from, we need to point out to the lawyers, doctors, pastors, teachers, drivers, policemen, business men and all those holding positions that we may desire to hold so that we can make the society a conducive place to dwell in. It is not just by being an MP that we may bring change in the society. If that is the way that we will reason then we still have a long way to go...the power is within our reach, the way we get to go about it matters a lot and so my plea is that we realise the diversity that we can use to bring change in the country and the world today...I welcome your views and opinions on this, you can mail me at aqcyber@yahoo.com so that we see on how to change the world we are living in but, just how long?
