As she crosses the threshold of the world
Her crying voice, so untainted.
Sounds of innocence evolve from purity
A sign align of a birth divine

As the turbulence of a flame gives light to darkness
Intertwined colors of gold, red and purple
She obtains life like an inferno
Forceful she emerge from her mother’s womb

At the hour of sunset
As the sun turns from orange to red and gold
While camouflaging the bit of cherry
Her mother screams like a wounded tigress
The birth of exuberance…Afri-phoenix

It’s a girl cries to her father
“The perfect dream work” he moans
Instrumental beauty so divine
Immortality he endures

While her mother surrenders to fatigue
He picks her up in slow motion, confirming affection,
The true connection
A quiet moment between father and daughter
The bond astounds

“Afri-phoenix” he whispers
“You turned my world of black and white to color”
Color of grace and bravery, color of treasure, color of hope
Color of fire, color of belief, color of truth and color of pride

As he holds her in his arms
Stripped from all male charms
His eyes filled with tears
His heart saw delight
His emotions in sight

Afri-phoenix…the birth
