Peace & Conflict   Poetry

Take one look at the world
As the battle persists
Each and everyone struggling
Against rivals amid
Our conscience is saying
That it's not right to hate
While society declares
That it's all in good fate
Whilst the media projects
There is evil around
Make more enemies! Have fewer friends!
Bury foes underground!
Whether rapists or beasts
They are all against God
…At least that’s what I’ve heard
This is true…is it not?
The barbarians slaughter
The antagonists kill
While the politicians work
Hard on counting their bills
Wish humanity would shield
From its hostile imagination
Must we kill day by day?
Must we mar all creation?
Will demeaning our rivals
Help us become brave and strong?
Should we hesitate? Falter?
Before grasping the wrong
Propaganda informs
Death is coming our way
Will the slaughter of foes
Actually aid us to stay?
Paranoia controls us
We must stick to our kind!
They’re out there to get us
Out to conquer our minds!
Come to terms with yourself
And your mind will abide
All the hatred you’re feeling
Is imagination inside?
All it takes is the will
Let's create a new bond
Let's grant ourselves the pleasure
Of becoming the change we want…
