Sing my own song Printable Version PRINTABLE VERSION
by dave, Kenya Jun 22, 2006
Child & Youth Rights   Poetry

For how long will this be?
that i lie here in solemn indolence
and dream of sunrise in a rainy season
as i roll sleepless in the bunks
in the night that so hurt
listen cricket glint sad tales.
vision & dreams that never came true

Frustration crude unzipping bitter tears
from the eyes blinded by empty promises
Today i'll rise and shine
listen to vesper songs of glee and pray
song give me a thread to mend
a voice to speak for the voiceless
a Jembe to whip famine to nightmare
keep me wake to guide the herd

And i'll sing my own song
even to the dead and the unborn.

Poetry is passion; my passion - It is the voice of the voiceless. I write poems through inspiration from day to day events and experiences in my life. With what happens in our society I hope to create awareness, inspire positive responses and in turn, learn from others.
