When my surroundings don’t agree with my actions and my advances come to a stand still, my mind freezes tight and I begin to write, letting my words flow at will…

Within these lines I can fly like a phoenix ascending into the heavens and swim like a salamander down the Egyptian Nile.

I can roam freely through African jungles like the king of all beasts and sit with Eros as he presides over the formation of beings in ancient Greece.

I can stand in the middle of the Arabian Desert without water and reflect the heat from the sun and with one giant leap land on the moon resting….my mind weighs a ton.

I am the ebb and flow movements within the ancient art of Tai Chi and the sweet taste of pure olive oil that comes from Italy.

I am the flowers that bloom in spring from the South of France and the click, clack, ca tat swoosh of rain from a Fred Astaire’s tap dance.

I am the drum beat that resonated within Tupac’s soul and the strategic peacefulness that grips from a Mahatma Gandhi’s hold.

I stand with the conviction of truthfulness like sister Erica did and continue onward while John was slain down at UCLA from fake nationalist pigs.

I am the seed that grows from mother earth into a towering maple tree, shading all races of children as they play in summer time gleefully.

I am the holy spirit of sound that fills your heart from John Coltrane’s “A Love Supreme” and the angelic confirmation of a higher power you hear as the Harlem Boys Choir sings.

When my surrounds won’t agree with my actions and my advances come to a stand still, I release the energy from my pen letting my words flow at will…
