Look at us
What have we become?
What have they done to us?
What have we let them do?

We are herded
Like sheep
Into what we know is wrong
But do not care

Our mouths
Zipped shut
No truth escapes these lips
Just lies
Created by the faceless

Our eyes
Shut tight
Sewn with stitches
Reality never reaches these pupils
Just the dream world
We wished we lived in

Our hands
Have lost touch with the earth
They now
Hold only
Our possessions
Materialistic things
That never mattered anyway

Our minds
Are locked
The key
Has been hung
Where we dare not seek:
The truth

Please
Release your body
From the web
Holding it down

Understand
What has come to pass

Do something

Be worth the dirt you’ll soon
Be buried in

I am in high school and havn't accomplished much yet, but it is my dream to become a doctor and work with the Red Cross in a third world country. I love writing and have written numerous poems, short stories, and even a play or 2. I am always striving to learn more about the world and to interact with various people.
