My Country… What is happening to my country? What is happening to my people? The country I was born in, The country I love! The country I can die for, The country I will for ever proclaim The Lion of Africa! In words alone! What has happened to the prestige… Our fathers once had? The Land flowing with Milk and Honey! A country feared and respected all over Africa, Is not feared by her own citizens. A country once held in high esteem By our past leaders! What is happening? Where is the love? One nation, one people, one voice, one country! This is what we should believe in! Oh! What a life we are now living! Sometimes I wish my grandpa was sold in slavery, Who knows? I might have been born a black American, Or even a black European! Often times I thank God for my nationality, Because I believe things will change. I believe there’ll be a revolution, To turn around our country, our nation! God will shine His light on us again, And work wonders in the country! From the highest placed man, To the poorest man, God will remove the weed, God will remove the haters of prosperity, The haters of peace! It will be a divine revolution, performed by God Himself. And after the weeding, His light will shine on us. And there’ll be no more poverty, hardly a sickness! No religious and tribal killings, No cruel and untimely death! There’ll be prosperity; He’ll help us live healthily; Love among tribes, inter-tribal marriages A great name and faith in country The return of the glory days We could be the pinnacle in sports, We’ll have devoted leaders Leaders who have the progress of the country at heart! No terrorism, a peaceful country! Do you dream of a thing like this too?! If you do, Join the group of people Who are praying, Fasting, Shouting and asking God To begin His holy revolution Something like a Jihad! And after the revolution, You’ll be proud, To say… I AM A NIGERIAN! « return. |
