My First Time It took me by surprise I had not prepared for it at all I gawked and stared consuming all It was so heavenly, so original, so dazzling The sight was simply breathtaking What lay before me was a real masterpiece Da Vinci would have indeed felt challenged Its beauty was captivating in every sense I felt the breath escape my lungs And my mouth opened wide to take all My eyes did not blink even for a second For if I did something would have escaped me No. I was not taking any chance Even Van Gogh would feel threatened Then I made a choice That I would have it just for myself For if someone else saw it A fight might occur And losing was out of the question Copyright ©2006 Lucy Wambui Wagereka -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- « return. |
