The Lone Spring Printable Version PRINTABLE VERSION
by Dumletam, United States Jan 14, 2006
Human Rights   Poetry

It was long, long ago
When the waters gathered
Inside a shallow pool.
A lone spring in their
Member issues cadences
Of life so divine.
Yet little did the waters
Take notice…or if they
Did, it was pretence
Not to take notice…
The spring springs,
Galloping like a giant
Antelope, its tail
Spreading, fanning,
Overlapping its course;

Like the great floods
Of the Niger delta,
This lone spring
Overtook the deserts.
Now, from this lone
Spring drinks thirty
And six generations
Yet little do the waters
Take notice…or if they
Do, it was pretence
Not to take notice…
Just yesterday the waters
Attempted to force
The lone spring to cede
Its cadences…greedy lots!
