Unless I wanted to dig my grave
I would work be illiterate and just behave
I was taught the bible and told I would be saved
But for centuries I was enslaved

Than one day the civil rights movement came
I died over and over so things wouldn’t be the same
Emit Till Miss Parks and many more are why I claim
My rights to be a free man which has been my aim

I am not from Sierra Leone
Which might of been my home
Before they came unknown
I was better off alone
