More over, we all heard about the cell phone calls made by the unfortunate passengers of the planes to their relatives. One such call was made by a lady Olson who described in detail the happenings in the plane, including the descriptions of weapons held by the hijackers. Don’t you think that if she can do this she must have also described the hijackers themselves as to what they looked like or what language they might be speaking? Considering the fact that this was a suicidal attempt and there was no need for the hijackers to be masked. This makes one think that what we are hearing is not the complete truth; a great deal of it is missing.
Finally, people of Pakistan are also scared of the pretext of war since if the USA go to war with Afghanistan its greatest impact would be mainly on Pakistan. This is the main reason why people in Pakistan mainly the Ullemas and religious leaders are against the government’s decision to allow USA to use Pakistan’s air base, since Afghanistan has made it very clear that it would attack any country from where attacks will be launched on its soil. I am sure the last thing people in Pakistan want to do is to fight against our Muslim brothers in Afghanistan. The people are prepared that once solid proof has been found against the suspect the terrorists must be punished but things should not be done in haste like they are being done now. I was talking about this to a friend who suggested that who could guarantee that the USA, once war has started leave Pakistan and Afghanistan fighting against each other and find an easy way out for itself. I have mentioned before and would like to reiterate that people harbor sentiments of suspicion against the USA and that too for very legitimate reasons. Pakistan has been allied for years to the USA and yet this alliance has not proved to be reciprocal in certain cases. In the War of 1965 between Pakistan and India, America refused to help Pakistan and then again in the War of 1971 watched while Indian forces raided the Pakistan territory.
I believe that the United States must keep his head at this crucial moment and consider every step it takes very wisely because any wrong step at this moment can have the most horrendous effects.

A few corrections
Cameron Roberts | Nov 7th, 2001
I like your perspective on the issue. Though I think Bin Laden is wrong, I think that the bombing of innocent Afghan civilians is a horrible thing. There are a few misconceptions that you seem to have, however, and I would like to respectfully put these right. For one thing, Muslims in the US, Canada, and all of our other allies are not being abused the way that you say they are. Though there have been some attacks, George Bush and our other leaders condemn them almost as much as they have condemned the Sept.11 attacks. There is only one Muslim person that I know at my school, and he is still treated perfectly respectfully When you said that a crusade is a Christian war against Islam, you were wrong. A crusade means any Christian holy war. It is true that the most notable use of the term was to describe the Christian campaigns to the Middle East in medieval times, but that is not it's meaning. Bush declared a crusade against terrorism, not Muslims. As for Bin Laden, the Americans and there allies have begun a huge campaign against terrorism, and wheather or not he was actually responsible for the attacks, he is a known terrorist who should be brought to justice, not because he is Muslim, or Afghan, but because he has killed many many people in various attacks.

In The Name Of Allah

I agree with you. As I see it, Americans are the terrorists. Their tactics is making me see The Overzealous "Bush" as a mad wild dog. Why is the whole world joining in the mad game. The Americans must stop destabilising Afghanstan. If the Americans with their so much talked about "sophisticated" weaponery think they are the most precious people, then they must be eliminated once and for all. The prophet Sullog has promised a tragedy to Americans in the next 60 days.

Truth

Dear Abbas, Interesting to read your thoughts. However they are motivated, it would be educational to provide factual information. India never 'raided' Pakistani territory. In both instances of war that you've outlined, Pakistan attacked India and India countered under the premise of self-defence. Why do Pakistanis have so much animosity towards India? Is India to be the eternal nemeses of Pakistan? Truly, if we are to progress, we must write with Love and compassion and not with blame and disdain. Salaam

False Facts
Barry Morris | Jul 11th, 2003
Your comments point out one of the biggest problems we have about each other, not knowing the facts about each other. In America we know that true Muslim's are not terrorist that kill innocent people, but the people that carried out this cowardly act just happened to be Muslim, we do not group all Muslims as terrorist. The passport and flight instruction were not found in the rubble they were in the car one of the terrorists rented, hence we know who that person is. There were not 4000 jews that didn't show up that day for work and I don't know where you received your information about this subject, do you think there is someone standing by the entrance's of the WTC buildings counting the 50 or so thousand people that work in that building, saying there's a jew, mark him as present, like your in school, there is no security in the towers stopping people from entering the buildings, think about that obsured comment. Again when you hear people state so called facts, use common sense in judging whether it is creditable or not!
