Its 3.AM in my town a big loud bang, screaming and barking of dogs, burglars have struck again they will do it again tomorrow, aftermath is rather astounding. Two people injured a girl raped in front of the family. This is my town in normal days Tried community police, what? The vigilante groups, mockery to the hardcore gangs! Police station far? Yes half kilometre! Land rover can’t run No fuel for shanty town its in accessible We’ve built houses in every square inch Narrow streets Dotted shebeens strive to while away our miseries malnutrition fathoms incoherent tunes, from drunkards scuttles alley cats Stark reality violent face of poverty a kaleidoscope of misery and sorrow in my shanty town « return. |
