Ahh, what a beautiful Tuesday morning! A feeling so bright and cheerful! The girl looks like my friend Melisa. Melisa…. Tears start to flow from my eyes, Two years and six months ago…. “Stop screaming, or I’ll hurt you!” “Stop!” the man ferociously commanded. “Let go of my hands, it’s hurts. No! No!” “What’ve you done?” he asked fiercely. He slapped ruthlessly on her face. Her nose was bleeding. “.. I’m just helping my mother in need!” she cried in grief confusedly. There was a look in his eyes. I never forget. There was a time I knew she could be in danger. I knew the look, and I have seen the look. Her father was a violent man I couldn’t explain. Stools flying high; furniture was broken. Banging against the wall, These were not the hands of the monster. But Melisa’s tiny little body. Not once but twice. Just imagine! That’s not the end. Melisa fainted or was killed, I really didn’t know! Again, that’s not the end of this brutal action. About fifteen centimeters long knife from the monster’s pocket, Once more, she was knifed and scared all over her naked body! Still not enough! “You bloody monster!” “Melisa! Melisa!... Stop it! Now! You monster!” Outside the small bedroom window, I screamed for help, but I was helpless. My screeches and cries didn’t help anything at all! Before my eyes was Melisa’s naked dying body. “Melisa….” That was the last time I saw her. No more and never will we share our laughter together. Joshua, Melisa’s four year old brother, Standing still, trembling in shock what had happened before his innocent eyes. This violence had given him a life-long scar in his soul. Poor little Joshua. Happy birthday Melisa! Today, lets celebrate Melisa’s 23rd birthday … if she …. Now, I beg you to stop awhile and just imagine, Imagine there’s no violence, no war, no fighting, no killing, Show no blood but only sincerity, heart and love. Imagine all the people living in peace, sharing the world. But, I need your hands, your kind and warm hands. I hope some day you’ll join me and us with open hands, And the world will live as one. Just imagine, Violence has gone forever! « return. |
