You look into a poor innocent child’s eyes and what do you see? Fear… Hunger… Pride… Hope … Joy… Anger… But you know what I see? I see someone afraid longing, longing, longing Longing, longing, and longing to be accepted For we all yearn to be somebody Somebody brave, someone fierce, someone loyal Someone smart and someone liked But those eyes, those small shiny eyes carry with them a story A story full of tears, a story of pain, a story with death calling its name But you know what else I see? I see longing, longing, longing, longing to be accepted I see longing, longing, longing, longing for a better future I see longing, longing, longing, longing I see longing, longing, longing, longing…… And I see hope « return. |
