Beautiful, pleasant and perfect It’s green, bright and dark, dry and cold Our earth, our home, children of the third world We are here We have seen We struggle to survive Faces are drained of color Appetite lost to hunger We search for a new life Gently sitting by the coast of expectation Patiently for the ships and spices Literacy and health to season the soul Cry not my people, song of the authorities We have planted the future, chant of the chamber Our policies – plain, strategies – strong, tunes across the sea The world is wrong Help us feel today We might just see 2015 Eat from our hunger Taste our plight Empathize don’t sympathize « return. |
