Poverty!
Why hath thou chosen Africa
as your dwelling place?
Poverty has trapped us all,
that we all live in abject poverty.
Our children have never
tasted the joy in riches.
Our soil is extremely poor.
And we are recognized by
the poverty of our dress
Our continent is poverty-stricken.
We all live below poverty line,
and our elected leaders never bother
about our state of being poor.
Africa! Never mind. For after the
rain comes the sunshine. I know someday,
poverty shall be chased out of thy land.
Rejoice Africa, for you shall be greater
and even richer than
the wealthy continents of today.
