The spring is here...
Green and the Evergreen...
Looking for the greener pastures
and the greenest grass I’ve ever seen.
Oh, no green paint left anywhere!
All’s in these leaves so gentle, so bold!
Look, the clovers more Irish are there
than Ireland itself could hold!
Bring me this green for a drink
Rain’s ready to offer a cup
Buckets of water pour from above
Like no God can keep them up!
Bring me this green for a meal
As nothing else could better do
To be the sweet drugs that heal
And nourish at the same time, too.
Bring your nose here, dear friend!
Of all the wonders that I can do not
One is to send you the sweet scent of spring
From the place I am now, this greening spot.
The Queen of Green
I long to be for just a single day
Only to dub you, my unknown friend,
Into the Green Knight - if I may.

Writer Profile
Zorica Vukovic
Zo belongs to a generation of average middle-aged intellectuals who grew up in a unique environment of the country known as the former Yugoslavia, which shrank in the last decade of the 20th century, divided into a few new states through civil war and finally dissolved into a union of states known as Serbia and Montenegro. She writes from her early youth, neither living of it, nor even living for it, just observing and meditating upon various issues of life and humanity. Her totemistic values are: love, creativity, ethics and the daily improvement of communications and actions on a global level.
