Everyday since I met you, I wonder And though you left, I still do In the silence of your voice but the strength of your words In a troubling calmness, A question persists, Who are you? Like a calm wind you blew As the rain pelted the ground And the universe thundered its might We were drenched Thoroughly wet and cold, but None of it unnerved you It makes me wonder still Who are you... Your humour is like rain In the midst of a forgotten summer Your patience endearing like notes I had lost from a subject of a favourite teacher You sailed into a moment in my time, in my space when i had wondered far and lost my way in the dark woods of uncertainty and fear I believe it is then For some reason, God looked down on me and said, Here is some good you did but cannot remember I wonder if you are a kindness I had showered on a stranger Or some good intention I had wished on another a well-wish of sorts Though, a twist of fate that day cheated us of goodbyes Alas, the course of journeys that dictates a turn of events and we make peace with our past I finally see it now, there were no need for goodbyes when we never did part ways in the very first place We will continue on our journey travelling parallel roads separated by space bound by time and all good intentions will serve as road signs for all said and done, I am convinced you must be a good turn I did in my past and I am glad that good turn found me at last... « return. |
