THE AFRICAN YOUTH Africa, My mother, my father, My only hope for a better tomorrow A new day for all of us But The new day must be sought Must be found by someone And that’s us, the African youth Our governments promise Promise day by day Yet none does a thing No one cares, no one Not even a soul Our environment goes to the dogs Yet… We only stare with blank eyes Yet we are the change And that’s us, the African youth Day by day We try hard to survive Through so much Cholera, Malaria, Typhoid, They fill our days with tears We need to wipe the tears and act Create channels of change For us; the African youth. From down south To the horn of Africa Let's arise! Arise and act, Protect, preserve and restore, Mother earth She is our mother Us; the African youth BY SERAH MWIKALI KATUSIA, YOUTH, KENYA. « return. |
