STEP is an enterprise development organization funded by the World Bank Group. It was pioneered in Lagos State, Nigeria in 2000 and has been replicated in Eket, Akwa-Ibom State (Niger-Delta Region) and also in Chad and Mali. STEP provides business management training programs, advisory and consulting services to micro and small entrepreneurs in the informal sector. It all started like a little idea That seems not a good idea The informal sector seems to hold a key to economic development But they are not experiencing a meaningful development Help was needed STEP heeded Businesses needed it STEP ignited it Like a ray STEP pierced through business darkness And brought gladness To countless, seemingly hopeless businesses STEP rendered a helping hand And gave them the upper hand ‘Scales’ fell from people’s eyes Business Knowledge was imparted Enterprises were impacted Productivity was improved Increased turnover was the prove STEP became a hero And a hero shall she continue to be STEP has come to stay There is no need to gain-say Becoming a household name in every nook and cranny of Nigeria Spreading her greatness even beyond the shores of Nigeria It all started like a little idea But it has now proven to be a good idea. « return. |
