When I left my home I left with so much trepidation So much fear! Fear for my life Fear for the unknown Fear of where to lay my head Where to eat When to talk in this land When to speak When not to speak When to go out and; When to return. I left my home with my head ringing From thousands of "Do’s and don'ts" But here I am with few months More Smiling, laughing, eating out Making friends, gisting with My neighbours Having fun and a good time Living a wonderful life Here in the expensive city The city I was told to fear The city they call A land of Unfriendly people But a city full of hope The sit of our Rising With promises of better Nigeria Promises of a better tomorrow Promises of a fearless environment and Promises of a corruption free society Good education for all and A poverty free society. Nigeria is the place. « return. |
