Big City Waiting Printable Version PRINTABLE VERSION

Civil Rights   Poetry

In the chaos of this big city
I can not go to any place
No one else here recognizes me
And I can not put another face

I am just lying down
Waiting!
I am turned to a stone
Waiting!
Waiting for a touch
To make me alive
To make me alive
Come! To make me alive

I am walking down in this world
Here, someone I have lost
And my stupor is taking my hold
I can not face this cost

You don’t know I am
Waiting!
There’s no peace or calm
Waiting!
Waiting for your touch
To make me alive
Come! I don’t hide
Come! To make me alive
