Deep down inside our nations Soul A sick dwells that's very Old Its corruption no one can deny In all aspects of our life it affects You and I In every place before you Progress “Settle me please” becomes “Next” after “Next”... Sometimes it even boils down to Sex "I no go do" "You must do am" "Na lie"-"Ok" "Let's see if you pass exam this way". In schools or in our market place Corruption digs deep to our own disgrace Police men are all the way Collecting bribes For the sake of our small naira Aborting all dignity and merit Without counting their dignity and Respect. A small child has even learned to cheat His own parents when left to sell meat Killing the integrity Youths should Inherit Though poverty does have a major role to Play It cannot be wiped out in one day If we simply review our activity And conduct all business Transparently Less chance will be for anyone to steal Meaning many others can be least have a meal And together, we can move on to proud Other basic needs for all to survive Education, shelter, food and Clothing Can all be had without corrupt nature? Light, water, communication With no single complication Youths should stand up to the call For a corruption free Nigeria For Nigeria can be better and even A corruption free society. « return. |
