Goodbye Good Boy Printable Version PRINTABLE VERSION
by Reality, Nigeria Jul 10, 2004
Child & Youth Rights   Poetry

It didn’t come out like lightning,
Like a tree did the urge bloom,
Till time made it unbearable to take,
It is goodbye good boy.

Helping people for good,
Loving those that hate you,
Borrowed from but never paid back,
It is goodbye good boy.

Proudly do thy enemies hurt thee,
Of course you won’t their coin return,
Though applauded, non-wants to be you,
It is good bye good boy.

Loving sexless, Eve’s daughters’ call you gay,
For being quiet, you were termed shy,
Holier than thou for opting for good;
It is goodbye good boy,

Expected to forgive but never forgiven,
Hated because you didn’t conform,
To what? The mobs ignoble wish;
It is goodbye good boy.

Termed proud for staying to self,
Thine truth only begot hatred,
There is no interest in anything;
It is goodbye good boy.

I come alive when I write and the feeling that those few lines may impact positively on a soul unknown to me or even elicit a smile makes it a worthwhile endeavour.
