I slid out of my slimy nook
My mother's birth canal
The world wholly swallowed me up, like a hungry animal.

The scare of night I was bound to see,
Ne'er to taste of glee,
But destiny had a plan for me,
As queer as I may be.

I loved the high things daily,
The deep things of the wise,
Although alone and cold I were,
I suffered no surprise.

New things a mean life taught me,
To shun and what I ought,
Especially to remember
My aided somersault.

I flipped out into wisdom,
In sage I delved deep in
I washed my face in mercy,
Sweet mirth I basked in.
