Oh! Africa my noble home
What have thee become?
Once a citadel of ancient civilization
A paragon of human communication
Venom of antagonism poured thee
By neighbours who tested thy excellence
Caused thee fall in deep slumber
Diminished thy former status

Arise! Oh Africa, arise!
Take up thy once enviable position
As pace-setter of the nations
And a mother of the world of civilization
Not too long it will be accomplished
Thou has done it before
Nature and human resources in abundance
This time is your chance.
