We sing the songs our elders sung
Today and every other day
They sang real loud
And beat their chests
To every word they clung

They stood by it and died for it
The vows that they
With songs did take
So we can be alive today
Oh lives they did forfeit

We sing the songs our elders sung
But what they mean we do not know
Our voices rise
Our eyes are shut
But to our hearts they all but sunk

« return.
