Trees are one of the oldest and largest living things on the planet. We should be protecting them and respect all the things they do for us. Instead, we destroy them and the species that depend on them. Many animal and plant species have gone extinct because of deforestation. It is true that we need wood, but deforestation is not the way. We could reduce, reuse, and recycle. Also, when logging companies cut wood, they should use selective cutting, because it will benefit them in future cases if wood runs out. If trees become extinct, we could too. So, we need to end deforestation now, and come up with better methods. Or else we may not live on this planet for too long!

"Trees are the skin of the Earth, and a skin not only covers and protects, but also passes through it the forces of life."
