Who are friends?
I'll tell you,
Friends are those with whom you dare to be yourself
Your soul can go naked with them
They ask you to put on nothing
Only to be who you really are
When you re with them
You need no guards
You can say whatever you think
So long as it's truly you
They understand those contradictions in your nature
That causes others to misjudge you.
With them you breathe freely
You can avow your little vanities and envies
And your absurdities,
And in opening them up to your friends,
They are dissolved in the vast ocean of your friends' loyalty
They understand you,
You can weep with them
Laugh with them
Pray with them
Through and underneath it all
They see, know, love and understand you
Friends I repeat,
Are those with whom you dare to be yourself

Adeyemi Adisa
When I examine myself, I see writing as the only way to express my thoughts and have been wasting no time, however little, in ensuring that I express myself. This is an inspirational thought, potentially instilled in each and everyone of us, but the ways we express ourselves is the difference. I hope to meaningfully make use of most of my time and positively share my thoughts with others. You can check out my site (www.yemmmmy.co.nr) for more of my articles and poems.

Nice poem. Your view of friends is very pure and good. Keep up the good writing.
