There's more to job hunting than just checking newspaper want ads, dropping off resumés and filling out application forms. Nowadays, finding a job means tapping into hidden job markets. It also involves contacting and meeting with prospective employers, and being able to convince them that you are the best candidate for the job — even if you've never had a job before.

This article can help you improve your job-search skills and develop a step-by-step plan for landing a job. It shows you where to start, how to market yourself and what's out there in the world of work. It gives helpful hints on preparing for interviews, making the right impression during interviews and keeping the ball rolling afterwards. And it shows you where to get even more information and guidance — at whatever stage of the job-search process you're at.

Finding employment in today's job market can be difficult. Having confidence in yourself and your skills as well as a good plan can set you apart from the competition. Check out one of the articles on the right hand side under "Related Articles" to get started!
