Everywhere I searched for her
Through wind and tide I looked for her
A person unknown and unfamiliar
Yet I at all times craved for her
And I said,” Be with me, forever."

I searched for her in depths of seas
Over ports and isolated quays
For the fancied figure, I had never seen
For the beauty and charm of thee
As I said,” Be with me, forever."

A face as lovely as the moon
And eyes which were for me a boon
A smile from which love dripped
As bright as the sun in June
For I said,” Be with me, forever."

Over barren deserts and marshy lands
With hopes slipping from my hands
Thou came like a pleasant breeze
A charm, a magic from thy wands
When I said,” Be with me, forever."

'Who are you?' I often ask
Thy face hidden by a mask
Of misty clouds and nebulas
Thy search is an arduous task!
Why I said,” Be with me, forever."

I often doubt that you exist
But thy voice to whom I list
Tells me to keep looking
And rest assured that you subsist
Once I said,” Be with me, forever."

You stand for my peace of mind
My eternal love and feelings kind
Though unknown is our rendezvous
But I am sure that I will find
And then you'll say,” Be with me, forever..."

Writer Profile
Awais Aftab

Writing has been a passion, a love ever since I learned to write. For me, writing is a means of expression of 'secret tears and secret pleasures'. True writing comes from the heart and often it is the one to find you, not you the one to find it. Writing gives me power, the strength to carry on, the will to live and to live in a better way. It helps me find deeper meaning in the world around me and to understand myself much better. I can't survive without writing. For me, my writings are the whispers of life, in which the glory and sorrow of life echoes. For me, these are the glittering tears, whose every flash encompasses a thousand aspects of life. I believe that, 'I write; therefore I am.' However, true ease in writing comes from art, and I still have to learn a lot about that.
