Among the snow capped mountain Between the wooded valley I am uplifted highly To see the silver specs of the rising sun The golden rays intermixed with diamond linings Falling like the droplets of rain And coming to bless the day. It gladdens my heart It beautifies my heart To hear lark and the golden voice of the nightingale Singing the melody of life Oh see the silver linings of the waterfall And hear it roaring voice Take a look at the splendour of the lilies And have a fill of the fresh air What does it tell you? Oh how I wish I could twinkle and sparkle Like those stars which grace the brow of heaven Do you see the North Star that is ever constant? Shining bright distinguished from others Take a look at those animals The hippo, the lion, the zebra, and the gazelle Look at the long neck of the zebra I am jealous of the uniformity of the ants This only points out one thing… If only we could feel the harmony, If only we could fly like the eagle, If only we could appreciate the work of nature Would we think of bomb blasts? I bet we would think less of cannons and warfare The less we would enjoy the cracking of guns And frown at evil Let’s not destroy the beauty given to us It is there to soothe our souls Lets not war against one another In doing so we destroy the ultimate and most intricate nature Life. Why do we destroy our brothers? Why hate us for no reason? How can we look at the reflection of the sun on the water And yet have a mind of discord? The beauty and splendour What does it point to? That there is much to hope for That there is much to appreciate in life That the world is beautiful Let’s live and appreciate what we have Live and let live. « return. |
