It tickles
Then
Now
And next,
We gain it in the morning
It gains us at night
In its claws is our destiny

It is continuum
Makes the wise
Mars the foolish
It’s at our mercy today
We are at his mercy tomorrow

It makes the boy a man
And the girl a woman
It makes the leader a ruler
And the ruler a dictator
It is a creator

It is most expensive
Priceless
Blind,
Without ally or foe
Yet at the beckon of all
Fathomed by man’s knowledge
But now architect of mankind
Present at our birth and demise
Outlive all of us

Its power is enormous
Destroys the carefree
Serves the careful
When will it rest?
When will it go?
Will it ever die like we do?
What are you doing now?
Time will ask you tomorrow.
