Peace & Conflict   Poetry

When on back I flash back,
My memories turn the day into dark,
I see children starving and wailing in worry,
Women whose faces appear sorry and weary
Men whose eyes are marked with fear and tears.

When on my back I flash back,
My back creaks with smashing terror,
My vision blurs with visions of blood,
My heart breaks at every raped woman,
And my spirit condemns my manhood

Yet when with the faith of Abraham
I project into the fortunes future,
I smile with a vision of Jerusalem,
Stand firm with every creature,
Happy, enjoying, and sounding a dram.

When with the faith of Abraham
I project into the fortunes future,
I see the blood turn into water
To water the fertile soil for growth of yams
The tears turn into cooling waters,
To the flaming hearts of every man,
And I tell my self- no situation is permanent.

Writer Profile
kaboyo julius

My name is Kaboyo Julius from Uganda, Kabarole district, Tooro kingdom, in the western part of the country.

Currently, I am a teacher of English language, Literature in English, and Psychology at Sunrise High school in Rwanda. I like writing things that will change the world since I feel this world is not the place it should be.

As a person who studied psychology and literature, I like to check people's minds and what they think, whether it reflects what they believe in. This makes most of my writing seem emotional if I am right about my writings.
