Peace & Conflict   Opinions

FREEDOM What is freedom? To all of us it is a different definition to our lives. Some of us have the great honor of living and experiencing freedom while others are faced fighting for their own. When I hear the word freedom I see Canada and how we can make our own decisions in life and we all have our rights. I see myself choosing my path with no one questioning what I do. I see peace in the world where no wars will be seen and everyone will be happy. Most of all I see people smiling because they know they are safe and happy with their lives and their families will be safe. I as a person am affected by Egypt's protest for freedom. Before I never knew much about Egypt. I never knew that this was happening in the world until I discussed it in class and heard it over the news. Because they protested they have changed for the better and has made a difference in many lives. Most of all they inspired me. They inspired me to make a difference and realize that out there, there are people suffering for something I have and I take for granted. I want to change this I want to see the whole world to have freedom and to be able to live mostly like I am where I have rights and freedoms in my country. Now everyday I will notice that I wake up with a smile and others don’t, but they all have hope and I hope that this will be enough to keep them going each day.

Hi. my name is Brianna Hughes and i am Jewish. Some days it is hard for me because you always get the certain people who will make fun of you because of what has happened in the past almost as if it was still happening today. Every day i manage to get by and look on the bright side and realize how lucky i am to be free and that i can go to school and make a future out of my life unlike how y parents didn't get the chance. I hope to express my experiences and culture in my writing so people can see a new opinion and understand who i am today.
