The Rising Star Printable Version PRINTABLE VERSION
by Ayo Morakinyo, Nigeria Feb 23, 2011
Education , Human Rights , Child & Youth Rights   Poetry

It’s a new day in a new month
The sun seemed a little impatient,
Scorching my back from beneath the clouds
The sky seemed pale and grey
As the rising star raised himself up

It’s another boring morning
He thanked his creator surely
And washed himself broadly
He then settled down to swallow his meal
And then purred for a little while

The rising star leaves his abode
And goes the way he should
Rain fell and it stormed
It was sudden and shocking
But he did wisely to remain firm

The rising star wants to become a leading star
To attain the position of a glowing star
And even become a guiding star
But first, he will shoot beyond the falling stars
Till he becomes the shining star

The poem is for anybody who aspires to leave a landmark in one area or the other. So, anyone could be the rising star.
