The Giant of Africa you are; With lots of forests, vegetation and swamps in the south, dry land in the North – a unique blend You stand out amongst equals Some people say you are a corrupt nation but I chose to see your good sides It takes a lot of tolerance and courage to have over 120 million people from over 250 ethnic groups speaking over 4000 dialects to stay together, as you have, since the civil war that ended in 1970. You are blessed with human, natural and mineral resources – an asset that many envy. You are a voice to be reckoned with across the globe – no wonder world leaders keep knocking at your door every now and then. If you are not unique, then why these visits – you know ‘success has many fathers but failure is an orphan’. There is something; lots of good potentials about you, that people will get to see in the coming years. Nigeria, walk tall, shine on, the Giant of Africa you are, the Giant of Africa you will always be. NIGERIA, I believe in You. I am proud to be a Nigerian. « return. |
