Outlive the future

Love will come unexpectedly,
Hit you determinedly
And leave you
Ineffectively
Able to regain your
Previous location
On the continuum of sane.
Love charges you a little
At a time
Accumulates massive emotional costs
- Its benefits are often intangible-
But accumulate in indeterminate
And discontinuous packets of time.
Love heals all wounds
(Even those it causes)
Love covers over old sores,
Hurts and life's pauses.
Love loves because it can
Because it should,
Because it must.
Love learns to be love
From love,
And to
Find love through loving
Rather than find loving through love.
Love chooses to keep loving
Even when not returned,
Love opts to continue
Even when spurned.
Love loves for no material reason
In and all seasons
Love; unlike respect,
Does not need to be earned!
