DIGITAL DIVIDE : - Biggest problem faced by population in India is the information poverty. - IT Revolution is limited to a smaller percentage of population. - The haves & haves not has resulted in a gap known as digital divide. - 95 % of Indian population cannot speak English. - 5 % of Indian population is IT LITERATE. - Popular operating systems are not available in Indian languages. - Out of the 55 countries surveyed by international data corporation (IDC) India is ranked 54th in IT literacy. - IT education is limited to English speaking and economically well off population. - IT education is yet to reach smaller towns, villages and economically backward areas. - Training tools and material is not available in Marathi. On going research has shown that training and learning is maximized when training is imparted in a language with which the user is familiar. This is applicable irrespective of age. The learner understands and grasps the concepts the best when he can learn at his own pace and can repeat the topics as per his requirements. Keeping in mind the above requirements and the research which we have done we have introduced inter active multimedia Computer Based Training CD-ROM tutors (henceforth referred as CBTs) in Marathi, Hindi and English for mass IT literacy programs. We have introduced inter active multimedia Computer Based Training CD ROMS in English, Hindi, Marathi. Solutions in any other Indian languages for mass IT literacy programs can be delivered within 12 weeks of our commitment. These CD ROMS cover: * Windows, * DOS fundamentals, * Computer fundamentals, * MS excel, * MS word, * MS power point, * MS outlook, * MS access * Internet fundamentals. Along with the above set of educational software we have solutions for: * Page Maker, * Corel draw, * Front Page, * Visual Basic and * Flash. Our biggest achievement has been that the multi media self-learning CD ROMS have received: * Recommendation letter received from Centre for Indian language Technology, Computer Science and Engineering Department, IIT, Powai, Mumbai. * Recommendation letter received from Maharashtra State Board Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, Pune. COMPUTER LITERACY AND STUDIES IN SCHOOLS (CLASS) PROJECT: Under the Computer Literacy and Studies in Schools (CLASS) project being jointly implemented by the Central Government and Government of Maharashtra. Based upon the recommendations received Maharashtra State Board for Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, selected IT VIDYA educational software / CD ROMS for imparting I.T. education in Marathi in 103 schools of Maharashtra. These schools are located in the remote villages and towns of Amravati, Satara, Dhule, Yavatmal, Aurangabad, Jalna, Beed, Osmanabad, Latur, Parbhani, Nanded and Hingoli districts of Maharashtra. The above facts are a testimony and prove the fact that our educational software meet complete requirements for secondary schools, are competitive, user friendly and very simple to operate and understand. We strongly believe that we can make a significant contribution in implementation of mass IT literacy programs and thereby empower children, women and rural masses with information technology. Our CD ROMS can be of great help in providing I.T. education and thereby "EMPOWERING RURAL MASSES WITH I.T. SKILLS ". We are exploring the opportunities to partner with where in our contents in Indian languages can be sourced by your esteemed organisation to promote I.T. literacy. We look forward to hear from you.
