I built a wall That you can't see A wall that is Inside of me It surrounds my heart And hides my tears And when I scream Nobody hears. When I build The wall tile by tile I never laugh And never smile. It shelters me from The outside hell It masks me from What words can't tell. But I'm also trapped Inside my cage Unable to release My grief and rage So please if you will, Find the mistake That’s in my perfect barrier That you must break. If the slightest light Leak through to me The wall WILL break And I'll be free. I built the wall To be life-long But you must be patient And please hold on. You destroyed my wall Tile by tile And now I’m exposed Smile by smile. « return. |
