Remember when children used to play Not a care, not a worry Just fiddling with clay Remember how they ran about Rolling in the playing fields Laughing, loving the bright blue sky Enjoying childhood: a time to play Who wonders where the laughter went that filled the air with bubbles of joy? Where do the children go out to play? I hear they now play inside It's safer punching buttons for a game Flipping channels, popping coke and crisps that's play Whatever happened to all the games A time to learn in a fun-filled way to make friends, to share, to win, to lose, to be Hey, they learn all they need in class There really is no need for play Away with the heavy bags of books Let the children learn through games Let the little ones run about Let their laughter fill the air Let the children play « return. |
