We cannot undo what we have done.
Cannot change our damaged sun.
To try to change the winds and tides-
Is where man will have to just step aside.

This world, we thought, was ours to rule.
But every king has been a fool.
He forgot just what he was here to start.
He thought the seas were his to part.

Now he finds himself in despair:
The growing tides, the still-born air,
The foods man was supposed to share...

With gluttony and greed he took.
He should have taken another look
as all his power, his wealth, his greed
gave a lesser chance to any seed.

He thrashed his kingdoms, led people astray.
They listened to what he had to say.
And did just what they were told to,
then found they were sold out, like you.

So what powers of nature are at hand,
that can change the movements of our land?
What we seek, who we ask-
this can only be a Lord's task !
As what we seek may be too late
for we who started this unknown fate.

« return.
