Gender Power Printable Version PRINTABLE VERSION
by Peculiar Ediomo-Abasi, Nigeria Feb 4, 2009
Human Rights , Civil Society , Gender Equality   Poetry

She was to lead a group of males,
But, "NO!" she blurted. "I'm female."
Quite a lot she could have achieved
But engraved in her emotions,
It determined her direction.

The ego—he had it quite much!
But if he hadn't bragged too much,
Quite a lot he would have achieved.
He was just so full of himself,
And got things down all for himself.

Being a female is not a crime.
A male! Also not a crime.
The very best can be achieved.
Everyone has will power,
Added to all one’s power.

Gender is a place to belong,
Where one’s might is uniquely made strong.
All is certain to be achieved,
If we appreciate our will power
And utilize our gender power.

Beautifully made...
Emperor Omorogiuwa Edionseri | Feb 28th, 2009
This poem is good and beautifully made. It reminds of those opportunities we've had and how we used it but the later part makes us to understand that we can still do what we could, would and should do. Thanks for sharing this, Miss.
