Peace & Conflict   Opinions

Our human bodies are extremely sophisticated and intelligent. We can be proud of having mechanisms in our bodies that counter fear, difficulties in life, difficulties on paper, or difficulties inside our hearts. It is however important to understand that humans are capable of great things, but that greatness cannot be accomplished individually. When you think of an individual who wants to isolate himself and isolate every gift of life to themselves, words such as greed and selfishness are the first thoughts in our minds. Is this the real problem in the world? Humans wanting everything for themselves, their own families, their own lives, yet the ones around their circle of love are of no matter to them. We are so quick to turn to isolation when we receive something extra; it makes us look greedy and selfish. We in turn become those humans who take every gift of life and keep it inside our houses behind closed doors, collecting for the future.
Ask yourself, how do humans solve conflicts between themselves? Psycho- logically, the voice is raised and adrenalin is pumped into our bodies. A conflict between two people poses a conflict within each person to either solve or continue the on-going conflict between the other individual. The real question looming around the thought is, can conflicts be annihilated from earth? The realistic answer is no, but we can lower the level of conflict substantially. From the beginning of known recorded time, human beings have had to work to earn their living. Although the work could be tiring, hard and pointless at times, the worker can find comfort knowing that he is working for his survival. As technologies begin to take over our planet, and humans realize that they do not need to work as hard as before, a sense of relaxation is present in those who choose to live in isolation, greedily storing their earnings for themselves. Now a quick realistic flash, that as human population increases and man-made objects replace workers, how can every human being earn a living for himself or herself? This proposes an incredibly important realization that as technology becomes more advanced, and our world becomes more and more comfortable, are we as humans going to forget what hard work is? Every human living on earth right now knows of someone who has it easier than them. For those who work middle-class jobs and have a boss, you know the feeling of knowing your boss has it easier then you have. So as work decreases with technology replacing it, we relax not realizing that our gains are losses to others: another conflict.
