Yes, we did it! Yes, we did!
We made a great choice; we put in a great bid.
He told us that we could. He said,"Yes we can!"
A really positive statement; the words of a great man.
An on-point African-American; Barack Obama,
just what we needed to cure the likes of Osama.
It's time for elevated social change in the West
because change in one place will forward change to the rest.
The air suddenly smells like dignity and pride to me
because progress, peace and happiness is surely what we'll see.
The Millennium Development Goals, we just might achieve,
making this world a positive and safer place to live.
Goodbye to poverty, disease and corruption.
No more false statistics, lies and assumptions.
Sure, it all won't come immediately; it'll take a few years,
but with such a great promise, we can wipe away the tears.
Our way of life before, we hypothetically weren't living,
resurrected from the shadows, we've finally started breathing:
one People, one World, one Love and one Heart.
Unified by one as one; we will have a fresh start.
The emphasis is that we stick together; join as one,
proving we are truly the greatest existence under the sun.
We took in all the punches, hit after hit;
now we soldier on toward supremacy, bit by bit.
We can now see the shadows because the sunlight is here,
to acquire this greater purpose, we'll rock the boat without fear.
All the ideals, principles and elements involved,
freedom and harmony, and all our problems solved.
"Yes, we can!" Actually,"Yes, we just did!"
A beautiful start to a great ending: "Yes, we did!"
