Saving Nairobi River Printable Version PRINTABLE VERSION

Saving Nairobi River Nairobi river has been on the map of Kenya since the existence of the world.During the non-colonial time and the colonial time.It was pure and people used to quench their thirst from it.You would see children playing and swimming in it.What a magnificent site it was.

After years of industrialization the river has gained a new face and a new fame. It's water has turned from pure colorfulness to dark, toxic.I do pity those kids that I see playing in that toxic water. It looks as if it is filled with sewer water. It has become the litter deposit site for 60% of Nairobi residents. No one pities it as I do.
What I do pity the most are the cows that are brought by the Masai to drink from it and those vegetation that we eat that are irrigated using the same water. The ways of nature are an understandable. We are being punished for our wrong deeds.
The meat we buy from butcheries and the crops we buy from our markets might have at one time, been irrigated using the water from Nairobi River.
at times I wonder what our answer would be if God came down and asked who polluted the river.Lord have mercy.
But it is not too late to rectify our mistakes.A wise man once said better late than never.I call upon all organizations to join YOUTH GREEN PATH in fighting this war of saving river Nairobi. If you want the next generation to use river Nairobi then contact me on "+254724063937" and help me in doing another good deed to mother nature.Bless you and bless everyone that gets my message.
